Very Poor attempt at besmirching the IDF and Nachal Charedi

[Hat Tip AN]

There are so many falsehoods in this video, it is beneath contempt. A straw man is created and then attempts are made to turn all those who fight these “secularists” whose aim is to uproot Torah as the enemy that one has to fight. When I got to the part about Bar Kochba, I literally laughed. This is brought by the Rambam in Hilchos Melachim as someone who Rav Akiva thought was Chezkas Moshiach, no less! I guess they would have stoned Rabbi Akiva! Yet, they carried swords and fought. They didn’t fight with a shas. A Shas doesn’t stop a katyusha. Sure, one cannot descend to pure secularism, that is an extreme. We do not subscribe to Kochi V’Otzem Yodi, but the clear message is that is if we DO subscribe to the fact that Hakadosh Baruch Hu OSO es Hachayil hazeh, then it is halachically mandated, either as a Milchemes Mitzvah or Milchemes Reshus.

I don’t see the Rabbi addressing the inordinate number of bench warmers who have no business assuming leadership or positions of influence, and instead, running around the world to collect money for themselves. You’ve got to DO something. Kol Torah Shein Imo Derech Eretz, Sofo Lehisbatel.

These are the archetypical Yoreh V’Rach HaLevov. These are the one’s you could never rely on in times of war. These are the spineless ones who would rather send out their brother to be killed in defending their lives.

To be sure, there are certainly an élite that must be supported. They are the leaders, and they have specific outcomes from their learning. They don’t use their entire lives to play pilpul with no end in sight.

They do not engage in any way. Not in the army, and not in society. Their ability to answer the Apikorus is so banal, they should be hidden. Who of them can assume the role of the Ramban, as needed. Which of them could sit in a Polish Government like R’ Meir Shapira. Next to none.

This isn’t a war of culture. Recalling Jabotinsky and Ben Gurion is living in a time warp. These aren’t our problems. Kibbutzim barely exist. Life has changed. The question is, if they DO want to live in a Jewish homeland, then they should follow the rules. If they do not, then then they should leave en masse and go to Gibraltar or the the Congo.

They want Kedusha and Avoda, but they think that defending fellow Yidden, whoever, that might be can never be done by using a gun. Go tell the next Palestinian Terrorist that one.

Torah is critical. Torah however includes being a part of society, and unless you are a protected person because you are part of an élite intelligentsia, so many are just pre-programmed robots without an original thought in their heads, and with spite filled agenda based on 100 years ago.

A nice production on the Internet (no less) which one is not allowed to look at. They use and abuse the internet when it suits them, and put people in Cherem for having a “smart” phone. Hypocrites personified.

I've enjoyed being a computer science professor in Melbourne, Australia, as well as band leader/singer for the Schnapps Band. My high schooling was in Chabad and I continued at Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh in Israel and later in life at Machon L'Hora'ah, Yeshivas Halichos Olam.

  1. I think thats why the comments are disabled for this video. I saw this video a while back and sent some comments (some word for word) like yours and they were there for a day then deleted. After a few weeks they totally disabled comments. There is another video from an asipho where he says the same thing and the same thing is with comments.

  2. Still waiting for these “Bnei Torah” to reconcile the Rambam on this whole topic ……

Whilst they are at it, they can also ponder the implications of their failure to follow this principle based on the following Gemara . . . .

רבי יוסי אומר… כל האומר אין לו אלא תורה … דאפילו תורה אין לו
    :יבמות קט

    רש”י
    אלא תורה – ואין מקיים
אפילו תורה – אפי’ שכר לימוד אין לו

    1. They are all incarnations of Rashbi and hiding in the proverbial cave. The only problem is that they aren’t even close. I do have to admit that Satmar is legendary for their Chesed. That’s what they have in common with Jewry

      1. Dear Pitputim
The Zionist State is the only State in the world that pays an allowance to each Yeshiva and Kolel student (if you can call them students. YESHIVA is translated to SITTING, or as you call it “bench warmers”, not learning or studying). It is not a grant paid to the top students as in colleges, it is paid to all of them.
The students studying in a Yeshiva or Kolel do not pay any tutorial fees, as do students who study in other institutions – Colleges and Universities.
If I am not mistaken, there are proportionally more Yeshiva and Kolel students in the Zionist state of Israel than anywhere else. Were there more Yeshiva students during the Ottoman or British rule of the land than today under the Zionists?
Let us suppose that all students, including Yeshiva and Kolel students, will be charged for their tuition. Would we still see so many BATLONIM sitting=YESHIVA if they had to pay for it as the other students pay for studying at colleges and universities?

The Israeli Army is a Jewish army. Kashrus is observed, Religious services are held, SUKKOT are built. Once I have been in a field unit which put up a camp in the desert. The SAMAL DAT = Chaplain asked the commanding officer to put up an ERUV around the camp to enable people (there were only a handful of religious soldiers in the unit) to carry on SHABAT. Permission was granted and an ERUV was put up.
Women in the Army? Why not? Our sages said already:
הכול יוצאין, אפילו “חתן מחדרו, וכלה מחופתה” (סוטה ח משנה ו). ”
If a bride, certainly here a female, has to join the army and go to war, than KAL VACHOMER any other women. It is probably a MITZVAT ASE SHELO HAZMAN GRAMA.
These American Jews Do not want that Jews in Israel should serve in the IDF. Would he rather be drafted to the U.S. Army and sent to Iraq? Aren’t these Jews called up for army service in the U.S.? If not, it is time that they should. These soldiers of the army of G-d will turn the U.S. Army victorious.

Do we need a state? I do not want to go into ancient history. If we had a State in the 1930’s, many of the Jews in Europe, maybe even all of them, would have been saved. They perished because there was no country that wanted them, and Palestine was blocked for them by the British. Maybe some would have perished, if their Rabbis would instruct them not to go to the Zionist State, but that probably would not be a great loss. What does that fellow (he is surely no Rabbi) mean that the Jews do not need a State? He says that Judaism survived for 2000 years without a state. Does a loss of nearly 40% of the nation (as nation has a State we should call the Jews שבט or religious group) mean survival? It is a Pyrrhic victory = Another such victory and I come back to Epirus alone.

You mention: “When I got to the part about Bar Kochba, I literally laughed.”. This shows us how much they learned and how much they know.
They showed in the film a gathering on ROSH CHODESH with speeches. As the learned BA’AL HA’Youtube said: they [the Zionists] invented a new language, therefore the speeches are in YIDDISH, but I wondered why the quotation from the TORA was in the Zionist Language! The speaker there quoted: שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל אַתֶּם קְרֵבִים הַיּוֹם לַמִּלְחָמָה עַל אֹיְבֵיכֶם but did not continue. If he would get to the end he would conclude with:
        וְיָסְפוּ הַשֹּׁטְרִים לְדַבֵּר אֶל הָעָם וְאָמְרוּ מִי הָאִישׁ הַיָּרֵא וְרַךְ הַלֵּבָב יֵלֵךְ וְיָשֹׁב לְבֵיתוֹ, וְלֹא יִמַּס אֶת לְבַב אֶחָיו כִּלְבָבוֹ. ט וְהָיָה כְּכַלֹּת הַשֹּׁטְרִים לְדַבֵּר אֶל הָעָם, וּפָקְדוּ שָׂרֵי צְבָאוֹת בְּרֹאשׁ הָעָם.}
If he would be a learned person he would have to quote for it from the MISHNA:
“והיה ככלות השוטרים, לדבר אל העם; ופקדו שרי צבאות” (דברים כ,ט)–בעקבו של עם מעמידין זקיפין לפניהם ולאחריהם, וכשילים של ברזל בידיהם; וכל המבקש לחזור, הרשות בידן לקפח את שוקיו” (סוטה ח משנה ה).
That is how צבאות ה’ are portrayed by CHAZAL. It doesn’t say that you need to have a GEMARA in your hand to fight (as you mentioned). If you want to avoid the army service, the “Officers” are allowed to break your bones.
